Anyone for tennis?

A custom-made card for a tennis mad 15 year old. I have created cards for him, from his Grandma, for at least the last four years, and the request is always tennis, so it gets harder each year! I am pleased with this one. I hope he is as well.

70

Another custom-made card, this time for a 70th birthday. I find that I have to think about male cards a little harder, but this one came together quickly, and I'm pleased with the result. The number 70 is gold and that always adds to the look.

Boxes

Here you can see a couple of examples of my decorated gift boxes. These two particular designs appeal to the younger clientele, but like my cards, I can pretty much create them with any subject in mind. The boxes are embellished with cut paper, glued to perfection and are ready to be used for any collection, large or small.

More custom cards

I have two more custom-made cards to show - the one above for a five year old boy who likes cars and "choo choo" trains, and below, a more sophisticated, pretty design, adapted from one of my gift box designs that you can see on the side bar, for the client's sister. I was given a lot of freedom with these cards to come up with what I wanted, so I hope they go down well.

Work in progress

I designed a large Bat Mitzvah card for a client yesterday. She asked for something girlish and pretty, but I wanted to add a Jewish element to it, so I added a Dove of Peace and some pomegranates. The card is still sitting here, to be delivered with a few others that I have not yet created, so this is a sneaky peek without showing any names!

Football

One of the most common requests I receive for custom-made cards for men is for football strips. I have become somewhat of an expert on the different shirts of, mainly, the English Premier League, though I have covered basketball, baseball and tennis aswell. The shirts are all created from cut paper with a lot of care and attention to detail. You can see a couple of examples of the many football shirts that I have re-created above.

Cut paper art

Time to show you some examples of my framed pictures. Each illustration is an individual design done in cut paper and ready for any child or adult's room. I hope that you like the pieces that I am showing you. I am always happy to hear from anybody with a special request for their own custom-made illustration.
Above, 'Monkey' papercut - 20cm x 20cm.
From top to bottom, 'Penguin', 'Blue Elephant' and 'Dog' papercut - 15cm x 15cm.

Boots

This is a custom card order just completed for a 6 year old girl who loves 'Dora the Explorer'. Her Mummy asked me to create a Dora card for her 5th birthday, so this year it was Boots turn! I hope that she likes it.

Showing my work

I recently took part in an evening at my son's school showcasing the work of artist and therapist parents. I actually designed the cover of the evening's brochure aswell (in the centre of the above photgraph) which was an added bit of advertising for me. The evening was reasonably well attended and hopefully may bring me a few orders.

Welcome to my blog

Welcome to my 'Handmade in Israel' blog and my first posting. I have really enjoyed reading and being inspired by many of your craft blogs over the last year or so, and have finally plucked up the courage to start my own (with a lot of help from my friend Julie at hand - thanks Julie!). I am a graphic designer by profession and currently work from home, creating greetings cards, gift boxes and pictures, primarily working with cut paper. I am excited to share my work and thoughts with you and hope that you will enjoy reading my blog as much as I enjoy creating the work that I will show on it.
