Oh my! I didn't mean to make my blogging break quite so long. I returned from my holiday a few weeks ago but the mix of kids being home from school and over 500 photos to sort through has meant a slightly longer than anticipated break. Anyway, I am happy to be back in this spot and am excited to show you many - I hope not too many - beautiful photos from our European travels. We started the holiday in London where my husband's family live. Though he grew up there, it has been quite a few years since he lived in London and it was oh such fun to be tourists and to show our boys the sights. First up was a visit to Greenwich, to the National Maritime Museum, Royal Observatory and Planetarium, via Canary Wharf. We stood on the world-famous Greenwich Meridian Line, which represents the Prime Meridian of the World – Longitude 0º - and rode home on a Thames Clipper.
Another day saw us visiting The Tower of London where the boys loved reading the gory details of events there and learnt how to be a knight. We squeezed in a couple of shows too - a wonderful production of The Railway Children at Waterloo Station, made even better by the glorious arrival of a splendid, fully operational Victorian steam engine, and the ever popular Oliver at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane. A little shopping was done as well - clothes are so much cheaper over there. The boys managed to see their beloved Arsenal play, whilst I was surprised with yet another 40th birthday party with friends and my sisters-in-law in beautiful Regents Park before we hopped in the car and headed north. Next stop Hull, York and the delights of the North Yorkshire coast. I'll be back with more photos soon...

I feel very ashamed that we live so close to London and haven't done half the things you managed in just a few days!
