A new customer ordered a special card for her mum's 80th birthday. I sent her links to some cards I have made previously to help her pick. "These cards are all gorgeous, so it's hard to choose!" she wrote. Ultimately she decided that her mum would probably like this one best, but with a burgundy background - her mum's favourite colour.
My hand-drawn and hand-cut birthday card, featuring bunting and balloon details, was personalised with my customer's mum's name, Elaine, and her age. Her daughter said that, because she viewed the card as a piece of artwork as well as a birthday card, Elaine would prefer to have her own name on it rather than simply "Mum".This design can easily be adapted for any name and age.
Happily, the finished card was very well received. "We love the card. Thank you!" my customer wrote to me. Knowing that it will hopefully be treasured as both a birthday card and a keepsake makes all the careful drawing and cutting worthwhile.

Reaching 80 intact is impressive. Elaine deserves a perfect thank you from your customer.
What a beautiful card, Lisa! I love the burgundy background and the idea of using Elaine’s name instead of ‘Mum’. This is definitely something to frame rather than put away in a drawer! 😊
That is lovely!
Another glorious card, and definitely a keeper. Happy 80th Birthday to Elaine! xx
Another Beautiful Card. What joy you bring to others Lisa.
That's a beautiful card! My mom turned 80 last week so I like it even more for that reason : )
A keepsake to be passed down through the generations. But all your creations are, Lisa. Happy belated birthday, Elaine.
Your paper-cutting skill is incredible! The bunting and balloon details look stunning. Happy 80th to Elaine!
Like Elaine, I'm days away from entering this decade.
These are beautiful cards, very beautifully made.
All the best, Irma
