Our nephew Jonathan married his long-term partner Annabelle back in June.
Unfortunately, we were unable to travel to London to be with them on their
special day, but we still wanted to mark the occasion in a meaningful way and
let them know that we were thinking of them.
As a wedding gift, I created a personalised papercut for the couple. Handmade
gifts have always felt special to me, and I wanted to create
something unique that would become a lasting reminder of the beginning of
their married life together.
The papercut features Jonathan and Annabelle's names along with the date of
their marriage, incorporated into a circular design. Surrounding the lettering
are delicate flowers, buds and leaves. It was carefully cut by hand from a
single sheet of Textura Recycled Bright White Card, then layered onto blue
backing paper and mounted in a 20 x 20 cm frame.
The couple seemed delighted with it. My nephew wrote afterwards:
"This was such a wonderful surprise. Thank you so much. We are really touched to have our own Handmade in Israel creation. It's so beautiful and will have pride of place on our shelf."

Hello Lisa,
What a lovely wedding gift. Congratulations to Annabelle and Jonathan. Take care, enjoy your day and the new week ahead.
Warmest mazel tov to your nephew and his new bride. It would be lovely for them to place a wedding photo in a matching frame and put the two together on their shelf.
...the circle has no beginning and no end, representing endless time, completeness, and unity, a lovely design.
Yes, dear blogfriend, it’s a sweet, sweet wedding card. Thank you for sharing at MosaicMonday

That is so beautiful. Such a lot of careful work has gone into it. I'm sure they were absolutely delighted to receive it.
I love this interpretation, thank you!”

Custom made is always best, and custom made by you, Lisa, is the very best of all. It is no surprise to anyone that your lovely creation garnered praise, appreciation and happiness. It will be passed down for generations.
Beautiful! This is such a special gift, and something your nephew and his wife will cherish for years to come. Shalom!
What a special gift for the newlyweds to receive! A handmade gift - one made with care and love - is truly something to be cherished. I remember that when we married (almost 42 years ago) a father of one of our friends made us a beautiful clock. We cherish it to this day! As always, your work - your eye and attention to detail - is extraordinary, Lisa!
Best wedding gift ever.

That is so impressive that you managed to cut this out so neatly! It's a beautiful card.
What an amazing gift! We are unable to attend a family wedding this fall and this is a great idea for a gift! Thanks so much for sharing!
What a stunning card, I'm not surprised at all that they loved it. I've not done any papercutting for a while, you are inspiring me to get my xacto knife out again!
Absolutely stunning and I love how it looks in the frame.
beautiful wedding gift! it looks so delicate - reminds me of my grandmother's crocheted lace doilies <3
This is stunning, Lisa. Such a beautiful keepsake. A big congrats to Jonathan and Annabelle! xx
Such a beautiful keepsake, Lisa.
Handmade gifts carry so much love, and this one will surely remind Annabelle and Jonathan of their special day every time they see it. Congrats to the happy couple!
What a beautiful wedding gift, and I can see why Jonathan and Annabelle were so touched by it. There is something especially lovely about making a gift by hand for someone rather than simply buying something, because so much thought and time goes into it. I really like the details of the papercut too, with their names, wedding date, flowers and leaves all brought together in one design. Even though you couldn't be there in London, you still found such a personal way to celebrate their marriage with them. His message afterwards says everything really, especially knowing that something you carefully made by hand will have a permanent place in their home and become part of their story together.
Coming back to wish you the very best for the new year! Shana Tova.
