The Colour Purple for a Silver Wedding

A new customer and fellow Facebook IWENer (Israeli Women Entrepreneurs' Network) contacted me well in advance of her 25th wedding anniversary and asked me to make a special card for her husband. She had seen my cards in the group that we both belong to and wanted me to make one showing her and her husband on their wedding day. She also wanted me to add some personalised images and requested the biggest sized card I could make.
My customer's list of personalised images was long but, after some suggestions from me, she decided on the following things: a heart, a Scottish castle, a male deer with antlers, the letters FYF, a silver 25 to mark their silver wedding anniversary and a Yorkie bar with the letters YYK replacing the brand name. It's apparently the couples favourite chocolate. I was also asked to use the colour purple, her favourite colour, as much as possible. She later added a cassette tape labelled 80s, since she and her husband both love 80s music.
My customer sent me a photo of the bride and groom on their wedding day. She asked me to pretend that the flowers in her bouquet were purple. Apparently when she went to the florist before their wedding they didn't have any purple flowers in. She told the florist really clearly that she didn't want any pink in her bouquet (she hates pink). Lo and behold, guess what colour flowers she received on her wedding day? 25 years later I was able to put that right by adding pale purple flowers to her bouquet instead.
I spent a long time creating this card, making sure to get all the details that my customer had requested exactly right. She got her Scottish castle and a teeny tiny 80s tape. I Photoshopped the correct initials onto the Yorkie bar and gave the deer some rather grand antlers.
It seems that it was all worth it.
"Hi Lisa. Hope you are well. We ended up celebrating our anniversary early because I am in England next week. My husband was absolutely gob smacked by the card! Thank you again for your amazing work."

Beautifully done! At least this bride finally got her purple bouquet. The moose antlers are so fun how they peek up from the background.

Purple is one of my favorite colors so this post title attracted me. How amazing your skill and nice to see how a handmade could be so beautiful. I will pin it! Visiting at #TFT. such a lovely personalised card, a lot of thought went into this and says much more than a shop bought card. #PoCoLo

Silver wedding - very pleasant memories for me, because we went to Greece for the occasion. An unusual background for a wedding anniversary, but I love the antlers of the buck! That required your precision skills. You can be proud of a job well done, Lisa! Thank you for your fun comment:)
