We discussed what should be on Polly's card and decided to show her making challah, a special bread in Jewish cuisine, usually braided and typically eaten on ceremonial occasions such as Shabbat and major Jewish holidays. Polly is a wonderful baker and cook. I added the logo of the school where she is Dean of Students and a couple of balloons too.
It was a pretty good representation of Polly, if I say so myself!
Polly's mum lives in the UK but she had a peek in my Etsy shop to find a card for her daughter. She chose this design, which I first created back in 2012. My rather girly card was originally created for a friend's birthday and I thoroughly enjoyed going a little overboard crafting a sweet little bird, flowers and balloons in a pretty colour scheme of pinks, yellows and blues.
This card is available in my shop and if you would like me to customise it with a particular name or greeting, simply let me know by email or Etsy message.
I also made a couple of cards from Polly's sons. I know that she is keen on my papercut designs, so decided that one had to be a papercut design with the word "Ima" on it. Ima (pronounced Ee-Ma) means mother in Hebrew.
You can see the whole collection, above. Polly loved them.

It was a strange yet fun birthday this year. Right in the midst of lockdown! Each card I opened was different from the one before, yet funnily enough all from the same amazing designer and creator. I particularly love the one from my husband. Together with Lisa they chose two of the most dominant things in my life after being a wife and mum!
I treasure Lisa’s cards always.
What a wonderful selection of cards and all so different. It's obvious from her comment that Polly was thrilled with them. xx
These always make me smile!
I love seeing Polly kneeding the dough but I am totally in love with the balloon card - so bright and cheery!
Polly looks great #pocolo@_karendennis

Great ideas to create the cards! I'm sure the "birthday girl" loved it!
They are cute and well made, as your usual. I like the balloon card so much...with the white reflections on each balloon! :)
Your beautiful cards will certainly make Polly's birthday a wonderful one. Love the portrait. Also, I LOVE challah bread!

The balloons are so cheerful, and a great new subject, making the batter for a cake.Your post made me think of this mom -she is really a "card" person. My oldest daughter is like she.
